Palette Knife Workshop

• Intrigued by the concept of using a palette knife?
• How to use it? How do I control the application of paint?
• What about combining a brush, a knife and maybe other tools in my acrylic painting?
• What about layers, glazes and palette knife in one painting?

This  workshop will allow for experimentation to explore answers to those questions. We will finish at least one painting along with several studies. I will review basic art/design rules (yuck, but I insist it be fun!) There will be several choices for subject including still life's, landscapes and abstractions. This is a safe place to relax and learn how to apply acrylic paint in new ways with not only a palette knife but other tools as well.

 

 

Mixed Media Workshop 

Learn how to effortlessly and intuitively apply acrylic paint (with brushes, knife, even fingers...) and other materials from charcoal, crayons, pencils and more in this mixed media class. Demonstrations with extensive explanations, plus personal guidance to aid in helping find your "voice" as an artist! Your "toolbox", the elements of design, will be reinforced as you enjoy the freedom in exploring materials and being confident as you create, knowing the "why" behind the choices of color, composition, etc.. We will work from photos and/or drawings. I will be sharing many things from my studio too, so you may experiment! All levels accepted; only a desire to create and have fun is required!
